The DTS is the gateway to the world of Youth With A Mission...
Each year we run the Frontiers
DTS in February. For many, a DTS is where
their journey begins in a career of world missions. For others,
it's simply time out with God... or a time that further equips
them to serve in their local churches.
No matter where you are at, the
Frontiers DTS will be a season of significant discovery in
your life - discovering a more intimate
walk and a deeper commitment to Christ; discovering
God's passion for the lost and hurting; and discovering
how to hear God's voice and know His ways. The Discovery DTS is
designed to be an investment in your future and a time to discover
your giftings and calling in God.

The Discipleship Training School
is designed to help individuals personally know God in depth, as
well as to prepare messengers of the Gospel. The emphasis is not
on acquiring information but on developing a daily walk with God.
This grounded walk will help to develop Christian character. It's
all about you and your relationship to God, your relationship to
others and even to yourself. Success in the DTS is based upon
openness and obedience to the Holy Spirit.
The 24 week school
covers three phases:
Phase 1: Lectures,
mentoring groups and ministry skill workshops.
Brisbane will be your home with the amenities of a large
urban centre just a short train-ride away, but some lectures may
be held either in outback towns or in tourist beach locations. (12
weeks.)
Phase 2: Ministry and
cross-cultural missions exposure.
For our DTS outreaches, we target the outback towns of
Southern QLD, our local tourist beaches, Ethiopia, East Malaysia,
India, and other countries within Asia and the South Pacific. You
will be offered an experience incorporating one or more of these
locations for ten weeks. On outreach, you will learn even more
about "living out" the principles learned in lectures while
reaching the lost in very practical ways. Outreach is a great way
to test your call to world missions. (10 weeks.)
Phase 3: Regroup and
prepare for re-entry into your home culture.
During our two weeks of "report-back," we will share the
thrills and spills of outreach, celebrate
victories together, and reflect on the lessons and
challenges of your ministry and growth while on the Discovery DTS.
(2 weeks.)

Frontiers DTS runs
each February and October. The cost is $3000 (which includes
accommodation, meals and tuition). This does not include the
travel and living costs for Phase 2 (outreach).
Objectives of the DTS:
1. To equip the Christian
messenger to grow in relationship with God, providing a solid
Biblical foundation, and encouraging the development of
Christ-like character through the personal application of truth.
2. To challenge the Christian
messenger to become involved in missions and world evangelism,
with YWAM or other ministries, awakening a burden for reaching the
unreached, a vision for influencing all areas of society, and a
commitment to strengthening the global body of Christ.
3. To impart to the Christian
messenger an understanding of Youth With A Mission International,
its foundational values, calling, and opportunities for service.
4. To prepare the Christian
messenger for service in the local church and the local community.
